Apartments Am Boxi in Berlin Friedrichshain

The flea market at Boxhagener Platz

Every Sunday you will find the flea market on Boxhagener Platz. People show up very late, at about 10 or 11am, and this is very different from the weekly market on Saturday, where the first stands open at 8am. Nevertheless, the flea market runs until late in the evening.

Here you will find a little bit of everything. If you like books, in German and English, you will find some book-sellers who come every week. Also painters use the North-side of the square to exhibit their art-works, quite modern and different one from the other.

And you will find also things you will find useless at first sight and useful if you start thinking about it, but mostly objects you wouyld use to make a film about Berlin in the seventies, eighties or nineties.

Clothes are another important part of the flea market, also CDs and LPs. Some artists will play music or exhibit acrobacies. And in between you will find some cafés and places where you can eat an excellent Thüringer, the local version of the famous Bratwurst.

Some shops of the surroundings are also opened on Sundays, as Buchbox in Gärtnerstrasse.

If you are hungry, try to get a good table in one of the cafés where excellent brunches are served - only on Saturdays and Sundays.
